Gamer Shows Off Elden Ring Birthday Cake Made By Their Girlfriend

An Elden Ring fan cannot contain their amazement at a birthday cake that features the beloved Iron Fist Alexander, made lovingly by their girlfriend.

An Elden Ring fan has shown off a homemade birthday cake inspired by the game, considering it too beautiful to not share. Even seventeen months after its release, Elden Ring continues to cultivate the creativity of fans who wait patiently for the upcoming expansion, a day that will inevitably galvanize them once again.

FromSoftware's art direction is arguably one of the most lauded aspects of its titles, second only to the developer's reputation for a tough but fair challenge. To this day, artists take memorable characters of Elden Ring to produce incredible art, such as one who re-imagined Elden Ring bosses in the style of Cuphead. Beyond the illustrations, fans have also taken to replicating iconic armor pieces, with Malenia's helmet a firm favorite, and one even manufacturing an entire diorama of the Radahn Festival, an Elden Ring event celebrated for its sheer spectacle.

The birthday cake, posted by ArcadeKaiSa, features an indescribably cute miniature of Iron Fist Alexander, standing proud beside the candles. An Elden Ring made of icing neatly adorns the cake, with a birthday message written just in front of Alexander's feet. The author of the post made sure to note in the comments that Alexander had a smaller cake inside of him and was entirely edible. Given Alexander's quest in-game, and considering how Warrior Jars live, consuming him is rather lore-accurate.

Commenters have been equally complimentary and humorous, praising the excellent craft demonstrated by their girlfriend and joking that this is why Tarnished strive to not be maidenless. It is in reference to White Mask Varre, likely the first friendly NPC that players will meet in the Lands Between, who describes the Tarnished as maidenless, a term used in-game to describe those unable to transfer runes into strength.

Elden Ring received a patch last week that, although unlikely to directly inspire a birthday cake, offered a lot of changes for those still engaged in PvP. Poise damage inflicted by all weapons was increased, and critical hits were made slightly easier to perform. PvP and multiplayer balance has been FromSoftware's priority for approximately the past year and that is unchanged with this patch. Updates have slowed considerably, but all efforts are likely being funneled into the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, about which little is currently known. A single official image has been published by FromSoftware regarding what seems to be a significant DLC, leaving fans to merely theorize, speculate, and indulge in their creativity until the developer reveals more.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
